Appointments

The feedback from our recent patient survey has shown that we need to give better information on how and when our appointments are available to book.  So, we have updated the appointment page on this website to give clearer information and details have been put in each of our waiting rooms.  We hope this will help patients make appointments more easily.

Patient Participation Group

What is the PPG - As you may be aware we have set up a Patient Participation Group to allow us to gather the views and opinions of our patients on things such as the current service we provide along with suggestions for improvements.

We are keen to hear the views of as many of you as possible, so if you would be interested in joining the group, then please visit the Patient Participation Page of this website where you'll find more information on the group and details of how to join.  This is a 'virtual' group and we do not anticipate the need to hold any face to face meetings.

X-rays - if the doctor has given you a form to have an x-ray, you can attend the X-ray Department at St Mary's Hospital.  No appointment is needed.

Opening times: Monday to Friday 9am - 6.30pm

Wasted medicines cost millions each year - Did you know that wasted medicines cost NHS South Central (which includes the Isle of Wight) an estimated £20 million each year?

This is money which could be better invested in services and care for you and your family.  There are steps which you can take to help reduce this wastage:

  • Only order what you need - Check which items you already have before ordering your repeat prescription.  If you need items at a later date you can request them.
  • Let your GP or Pharmacist know if you have stopped taking any medicines on your repeat prescription.
  • If you need to go into hospital, please take your medicines with you.  This will enable hospital staff to effectively assess your care.

Did you know that medicines cannot be recycled, even if they're not opened?  Please take any unwanted medicines to your pharmacy for safe disposal.  Do not throw them away.

Help us make more of your local NHS.
